Quantum computers:- In simple terms

Integrated circuit (IC) chips are becoming small and small every year. Nowadays, Transistors are of size of 14 nm and that is smaller than the size of red blood cells.
Three Factors Of Quantum Computing:-
1. The Need?
As things get small the regular rule of general physics doesn't apply. At atomic level quantum physics work.
2. Difference?
Ordinary computers use bits to represent data and carry out processes. Bits are like switches ; they can be either 1 or 0, just like "ON" or "OFF".
Just like bits, quantum computers have "qubits". Which are basic unit of Quantum information.
3. Working?

Instead of 1 and 0, quantum computers use electron spins. The spins can be in the state of positive (1) or negative (0) or both! This is called superposition.
Quantum computers use superposition principles; they can have various combinations of spins and thus , more memory.
Qubits can represent 1 or 0 at same time. 4 bits can have 16 different combinations of 1 and 0 out of which we can use only one; but for qubits in superposition they can be in the all the 16 combinations at once.
Advantage of Quantum computers-
Every day, we produce 2.5 exabyte of data. That number is equivalent to the content of 5 million laptops. Quantum computers can make it possible to process the data that we're generating in the age of big data.
Quantum computers will reduce power consumption anywhere from 100 upto 1000 times because quantum computer use quantum tunnelling.
Once a stable quantum computer gets developed, expect that machine learning will exponentially accelerate even reducing the time to solve a problem from hundreds of thousands of years to seconds.
